Starting an X_DEV investment

(Note that this is a temporary solution until we have completed the portfolio component of X_DEV)

1) First thing you do after you have found the stock you want to use with X_DEV is perform the optimization procedure. This is detailed in the User Manual.

2) Once you have the deviation bands spaced where you want them and all the other parameters optimized from your backtested study, save the set up. Use the File / Save As function and signify in the name that it is the longer term setup for your play. (ie,..... QQQjan31setup.xdv)

3) Your saved settings and chart will look something like this (QQQ example):

4) After the settings and chart are saved change the Start Date so that only the last 12 trading days are shown. Your chart will now look like this:

Notice your total amount you are committing to the play is in the cash box. The price target of your initial vest as well as the amount you should use is also displayed. You can now begin your X_DEV investment. X_DEV will show you what the next buy and sell targets will be. Just be sure to use limit orders at the exact amount X_DEV recommends so you can track it on X_DEV. Above all be sure to save this chart as well! For example, "QQQ12daysetup.xdv"
